Fun, Substance-Free Events

SRSLY provides support to youth and families with fun, substance-free activities and events. All events are planned by youth, and admission is free. These events reinforce kids’ good decisions by providing a fun and safe place for them to celebrate with friends and family, and proving that we don’t need alcohol or drugs to have fun. Visit your local community SRSLY website to view a full list of upcoming events and activities. Here are some of our most popular:

New Year's Eve 2012 030

New Year’s Eve Party

All four SRSLY communities come together in Chelsea on December 31 to celebrate the new year! The SRSLY New Year’s Eve Party contradicts the conventional wisdom that this holiday can’t be celebrated without alcohol. With support from local businesses and service clubs, this free event features live music, arts and crafts, video games, cookie decorating, swimming, and sports in the gym. Everyone looks forward to sampling entries in the chili cook-off, plus free pizza! The end of the night is a blast with team games and a countdown to the new year.

Volunteer Appreciation Party 2013 022

Volunteer Appreciation Party

This is our time to say thanks to everyone who helped out in all of the SRSLY communities over the course of the year. An award ceremony recognizes individuals for their contributions. The rest of the event is a chance to eat, relax, and have fun with fellow coalition members.

Fall Kick-Off Rallies

SRSLY members set up tents and tables at home football games to promote the coalition and recruit new members. At the game, youth and adult volunteers pass out green rally towels, SRSLY temporary tattoos, and information about our coalition to everyone in attendance. After a short half-time announcement, youth members throw our signature green t-shirts into the stands.
